Hot floors and painful paws 🐾 #vetadvice #pethealthclub #dogadvice #vetcare #temperature #doghealth

Your dog’s paws are sensitive, just like our feet. Walking on hot surfaces can be really uncomfortable for them, and in some cases, it can burn their beans. But do you know how hot the ground can get?

Look at those temperatures from a 30°C day. These surfaces can cause a lot of pain and injury to our pets, don’t walk your dog in the heat, or let them on artificial grass when it’s really hot out. 🌞🐾

Before heading out for a walk on a hot day, it’s a good idea to check the ground temperature yourself. Place the back of your hand on the ground for 5 seconds.

If it’s too hot for you, it’s too hot for your dog. If you’re ever in doubt, just stay at home, seek shade and offer your dog plenty of water.

And always remember, no dog has ever died because they’ve missed a walk. Stay safe.
